2017-2018 Premier League week 7

Tottenham Hotspur versus Arsenal

My personal Youtube account is always filled with clips about the Premier League clubs. ArsenalFanTV is one of the accounts I watch a lot. Usually it’s quite entertaining for me, but the clips after the FA Cup semi-final were a bit annoying to me. Now the Spurs perform much better in the league, they were bragging about playing the final with Arsenal. So thanks to these Arsenal fans, I hoped Tottenham could win this match. In this post I give my view on the last North-London derby at White Hart Lane: Tottenham Hotspur versus Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur versus Arsenal line-ups

Tottenham Hotspur
Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies, Victor Wanyama, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane.

Petr Cech, Kieran Gibbs, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Gabriel Paulista, Aaron Ramsay, Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez, Oliver Giroud.

People expected an open match with changes for both teams. I personally expected the same. Two teams fighting for the points in the derby, should be good for some goals. The first half was a bit disappointing to me quite honestly. I saw a few chances, but not as much as I hoped for.

The second half was much better. Tottenham dominated from the start of the first half and it was Dele Alli with the first goal in the 55th minute of the match. Only second later, Tottenham was rewarded a penalty by the referee. Harry Kane netted the ball from the penalty spot and brought his team on 2-0. Now Arsenal really needed to hunt for goals. The Gunners tried to create chances, but it has to be said: Tottenham Hotspur was just too strong for Arsenal. Tottenham Hotspur versus Arsenal ended in 2-0 for the home team. With this victory Tottenham secured themselves to finish above their rivals on the table.
