It’s a strange day today. Three Premier League matches will be played on the same day eight teams are playing for a FA Cup semi-final ticket. Because there are only a few Premier League matches, I decided to skip the Premier League betting tips this week. Therefore I will give my opinion on the upcoming FA Cup quarter finals. See how I feel about these matches in this 2017 FA Cup quarter finals preview.
2017 FA Cup quarter finals preview
Middlesbrough versus Manchester City
This is going to be an interesting match. The Citizens played a midweek Premier League match and have an important Champions League match in their agenda. This could mean Pep Guardiola will give some players time to rest during this match. Middlesbrough isn’t in their best form and they are in the Premier League danger zone at the moment. Boro has the home advantage and they can give Man City a hard task.
Arsenal versus Lincoln City
Arsenal comes from a heavy defeat in the Champions League. They lost 10-2 on aggregate against Bayern Munich. The Gunners are 16 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League, so the FA Cup is their only remaining chance on a trophy this season. For Lincoln City it’s a fun trip to the Emirates Stadium. Nobody expects anything from them, so they can’t fail. I’m really interested to see how Arsenal is going to react on their devastating battle with Bayern Munich.
Tottenham Hotspur versus Millwall
Tottenham Hotspur is in a similar situation as there main rival Arsenal. There are eliminated out of all European competitions and the Premier League title is also out of sight. So FA Cup is their only remaining chance on winning a trophy this season. In this home match they should be able to eliminate League One team Millwall.
Chelsea versus Manchester United
This is going to be the most interesting battle. Manchester United played a midweek match against in and against Rostov. Chelsea’s last match was on Monday evening against West Ham United. So Chelsea has the home advantage and also had more time to rest since their last match. In their current form I think Chelsea is able to eliminate Manchester United from the FA Cup.
