Bastian Schweinsteiger

Bastian Schweinsteiger deserves to be rehabilitated

I wanted to dedicate a post to Bastian Schweinsteiger for a while. Bastian Schweinsteiger is 32 years old and plays for Manchester United. I mean he’s a player of Man United, but he doesn’t play for the club anymore. Since Jose Mourinho entered the club, Schweinsteiger was demoted and sent to the U21. What did Bastian Schweinsteiger do to deserve this treatment? Nothing! Mourinho really needs to rehabilitate the German veteran.

Bastian Schweinsteiger’s career

Bastian Schweinsteiger is a player who won almost every trophy a player can win. He signed for Bayern Munich as a youth player and won several trophies with his childhood club. In 13 seasons at Bayern Munich he won among other 8 Bundesliga trophies, 7 DFB Pokals, 1 Champions League, 1 UEFA Super Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup. He also won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany. This makes him together with Juan Mata the only Man United players who’ve been World Champion. I think you always need to treat everybody with respect, but this counts even more for a 32 year old World Champion. The way Mourinho treats him at the moment is unbelievable. Telling a player with a palmarès everybody envies he isn’t welcome in the first squad anymore is an absolute shame.

I really feel for Bastian Schweinsteiger. The way he behaves under this circumstances is a real sign of dignity. He keeps telling everybody he still wants to play for Manchester United and doesn’t go bad mouthing about the club or trainer. This proves why he is such a better person than his coach Mourinho. The moment I realised how much his situation hurts him was during his international retirement match.

You can’t separate his tears in this clip from his situation at Manchester United. It really pisses me off that Mourinho isn’t taking any notice on this amazing player. Of course every manager has the right to select his own 11 players. But there is absolute no reason why Schweinsteiger can’t play with the first team in a chance to prove he can still be valuable for his club.
