It’s a bit sad, but today was the last Premier League action of this season. On this last match-day all 10 matches started at the same time. Some matches were just for the statistics, while big things were at stakes for some other matches. In this post I briefly discuss all Premier League week 38 results with you.

Arsenal versus Everton

A win was necessary for the Gunners to have a small chance of reaching the top 4. Arsenal got an early goal by Bellerin. After 18 minutes of play it was Koscielny with an outrageous tackle on Valencia. The referee did what he needed to do and showed the Frenchman a red card. Arsenal still dominated the game with ten men and their best player Sanchez scored the 2-0. The second half got more exciting after Lukaku netted a penalty kick, but in the end it was Ramsey with the last goal of the match. Arsenal wins with 3-1.

Burnley versus West Ham United

There was nothing to play for in this match. Both teams are safe and play only for some places. Goals by Vokes, Feghouli and Ayew led to a 1-2 victory for West Ham United. This was a descent match in this post with all Premier League week 38 results.

Chelsea versus Sunderland

The champions against the number last on the table. The champions played with a very strong team, but it was Sunderland with the first goal of the match in the third minute. Five minutes later it was Willian with the equaliser. The highlight of this match was Terry substitution in the 26th minute of the game. Chelsea’s number 26 played the last Premier League match of his career. Chelsea won the match in the second half thanks to goal from Hazard, Pedro, Batshuayi (2) with 5-1.

Hull City versus Tottenham Hotspur

Hull City got relegated, while the Spurs secured the second spot on the table a while ago. The Spurs really shined in this match. Although they had nothing to play for, they showed what they are capable of. Premier League top scorer Harry Kane scored three goals against Hull City. Alli, Wanyama, Davies and Alderweireld all scored one goal. Sam Clucas scored for Hull City which led to a 1-7 score for Tottenham Hotspur.

Leicester City versus Bournemouth

This is another match for places on the table. Both teams just can win or loose one of two places in this match. It was really obvious both teams had nothing to play for anymore. It was a quite boring match with one goal for each team.

Liverpool versus Middlesbrough

This match is really important for Liverpool. The Reds will qualify for the Champions League when they win this match. Middlesbrough is relegated after one season in the Premier League. Liverpool really struggled their way through the first half of this match. With Man City and Arsenal on a comfortable lead, Liverpool looked to rest with a goalless score at half-time. But then there was Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutchman scored with a great strike in the dying second of the first half. This goal was exactly was Liverpool needed. The Reds secured their fourth spot with goals early in the second half from Coutinho and Lallana.

Manchester United versus Crystal Palace

Mourinho’s team is focused on the Europa League final and the Portuguese decided to play his youngsters in this match. Crystal Palace is safe and has nothing to play for in this match. The youngsters did well and it was probably one of the most exciting’s first half’s of this season for Man United. Harrop and Pogba scored a goal each for the home team. The 2-0 score remained on the scoreboard for the entire second half.

Southampton versus Stoke City

This is another match between two teams playing for places. For an hour it was a match without any highlights. In the 60th minute Peter Crouch opened the score. His goal was the only goal of this match so Stoke City won with 0-1.

Swansea City versus West Bromwich Albion

Swansea just managed to avoid relegation and can play without any pressure in this match. West Bromwich Albion played a descent season halfway the Premier League table. Evans scored the opener for West Bromwich Albion after 33 minutes of play. The Swansea however managed to turn around this game in the second half. Goals by Ayew and Llorente led to a 2-1 victory for the home team.

Watford versus manchester City

Watford isn’t in their best form but is safe for relegation. Man City has a small chance of dropping out of the top 4 so they want to win this match. It was a very easy afternoon for the Citizens. Kompany opened the score after 5 minutes and they never got in any trouble after this goal. Man City led with 0-4 af half-time thanks to goals by Aguero (2) and Fernandinho. Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal in the second half which led to a 0-5 victory and the third place for Manchester City.
